American Le Mans Series, round 9 in Road Atlanta, USA

Strong Porsche contingent at Petit Le Mans

Stuttgart. On the time-honoured race track of Road Atlanta, where the success story of the American Le Mans Series began back in 1999, the 1,000 mile Petit Le Mans race takes off this coming Saturday. The penultimate round of the season on this extremely demanding circuit in the US state of Georgia is regarded, after the Sebring 12 hour event in Florida, as the second long-distance classic in this attractive race series featuring the world's fastest sports cars.

Grand-Am Series, round 12 in Miami, USA

Victory and three championship titles for Porsche at season final

Stuttgart. Porsche celebrated a triumph at the final round of the American Grand-Am Series. Joao Barbosa (Portugal) and Hurley Haywood (USA) won the race in the heat of Florida on the Homestead Miami Speedway with the Porsche Riley fielded by Brumos Racing. With their Farnbacher Loles Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, Dirk Werner (Germany) and Leh Keen (USA) clearly secured the drivers’ championship title in the GT class. Thanks to their four wins this season, Porsche also won both the manufacturer and the team classification.

American Le Mans Series, round 10 in Laguna Seca, USA

100th Porsche victory crowns championship season

Stuttgart. Porsche celebrated the 100th win in the American Le Mans Series at Laguna Seca: With the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR fielded by Flying Lizard Motorsports, Porsche works drivers Joerg Bergmeister (Germany) and Patrick Long (USA) won the highly dramatic season final in California and secured the GT2 class championship. Porsche also claimed the manufacturers title, and team championship honours went to Flying Lizard Motorsports.

Porsche Mobil1 Supercup, round 13 at the Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi

Bleekemolen crowns championship with victory at final

Stuttgart. With a win at the last race of the season in Abu Dhabi, Jeroen Bleekemolen from the Netherlands crowned his championship campaign in the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup. Driving for Konrad Motorsport, the title defender beat his arch rival René Rast (Germany) after a gripping duel and was handed the winner’s trophy by the Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Dr. Wolfgang Porsche. The distinction for second place was undertaken by Wolfgang Dürheimer, Board Member for Research and Development.

After 14 laps on the new Formula 1 circuit in the UAE, Bleekemolen took a pole-to-flag victory to celebrate his fifth win of the season. Moreover, the Dutchman set a new record in the Supercup: At all 13 rounds of the series, he secured a podium result. However, with the number of race wins, René Rast was a nose ahead: The vice-champion from VELTINS MRS Racing dominated six times.
