Cars, Planes and Kids at the 2010 Porsche Parade!

OK, it’s not Planes, Trains and Automobiles, but it’s pretty close!  You might be thinking from the title that the Parade staff is planning something special and you would be right!

Are you ready for a “new” kind of Welcome Party at the Parade this year?  What about combining our annual get together with a fundraiser benefiting Advocate Hope Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois; which will feature a grand prize drawing for a brand new 2011 Cayenne S! This is the first Parade fundraiser of its kind-- one benefitting a major non-profit hospital dedicated to saving children’s’ lives.

The First Porsche Drive of 2010

This will be the first of many drives and get togethers we're planning this year.

Meeting Sunday April 18th @ 12:30 - At DQ (Bluegrass pkwy next to Bachman VW)

April's drive is to travel the back roads of Southern Indiana to welcome in Spring.
Hopefully but then the road salt and sand will be washed off. Usually Southern Indiana
roads are in better shape then Kentucky's. Casino money helps that effort. But I'm
sure we'll still have a few pot holes to deal with... We'll end up at Huber's Winery.

This will be a short but scenic ride which should take more than 4 hours.
Of course, as always, weather pending. If its raining we will not go.
For those interested we'll take a vote on dinner some place afterwards.
Come out with us and blow the cobwebs off and enjoy the views.

Please contact Steve McCombs for additional details or questions

Our 50th Anniversary Party!

It was nice to see so many people at the Louisville Palace Theater on Saturday, September 19th to show support for our Club and its 50th Anniversary.  There were approximately 100 people in attendance for our special party.  Since Mother Nature was good to us, we had 32 Porsches parked right out in front of the magnificent Palace.  This National Historic Landmark, which was built in 1928, made for an excellent venue for our party.

2009 Monterey Weekend

Submitted by Richard Collins

I recently returned to Bowling Green from nearly 7 years in the San Francisco bay area and a membership in the Diablo Region of PCA. Every year we made a point to do the Monterey Historic Races and the Pebble Beach Concours. The week before was also actually a great time at the “Pre-historics” which features all cars both invited or not to the “Big Show”.
