The 356 Registry East Coast Holiday is coming to West Baden Indiana on 10-13 September. The 356 Registry Holidays are our annual gathering of the faithful for a few days of fellowship with other 356 owners and to share ideas and show off our cars. It's like a 356 family reunion and I have attended these since 1984 and actually hosted (with plenty of help) the Registry Holiday here in Louisville back in 1986. The West Baden Hotel is an ideal site for this event and we have basically taken it over for the weekend. John and Shelly Howe, Mike Long, Andy Daugherty (concour chair) and I are working hard to make this a memorable weekend for 356 owners. The concour will be on the grounds at West Baden on Saturday. If any KyPCA member would like to see the concour on Saturday you are welcome.

There are several 'menu' selections suggested (on the internet) for a local restaurant: Red snapper, Italian sausage, clams...you get the idea.

I am always amused at the TV commercials. My recent 'favorite' is for a home security company. The scene has a vulnerable woman in her home and a 'bad' guy kicks in the door, the alarm sounds, and he runs off. Then the phone rings and it is the security company checking in. Yeah, right!!! You just had your door kicked in and the first thing you want to do is answer the phone?

A couple of questions:

1. What are her options if the alarm noise doesn't scare the 'bad' guy off?
2. How long after the alarm company checks in do the police arrive?
3. Why doesn't she have personal protection like mace, pepper spray, a big dog, a firearm?
4. I do see that the 'bad' guys are 'PC'.

I have a problem with the premise that an alarm bell is all the protection anybody needs.

I got a couple of books for my recent birthday: Glen Beck's 'Common Sense' and Bill O'Reilly's 'Bold Fresh'. I am a fan of both.... No Surprise?

Recently there was a discussion about tools to do specific jobs on a 356. Several folks offered their opinion about which tool worked best. One offered the opinion that 'it's not the arrow, it's the Indian'. Think about that :-)

Just remember 'elections have consequences'.
