100th Porsche victory crowns championship season

Stuttgart. Porsche celebrated the 100th win in the American Le Mans Series at Laguna Seca: With the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR fielded by Flying Lizard Motorsports, Porsche works drivers Joerg Bergmeister (Germany) and Patrick Long (USA) won the highly dramatic season final in California and secured the GT2 class championship. Porsche also claimed the manufacturers title, and team championship honours went to Flying Lizard Motorsports.

Porsche pilots pursue drivers’ title at final

Stuttgart. Right from the start, the race for the American Le Mans Series title was a fiercely-contested battle between Porsche, Ferrari and BMW. And the suspense continues: The drivers’ championship will only be decided at the season final on Saturday in California’s Laguna Seca. After Porsche claimed the GT2 manufacturers’ championship at the Petit Le Mans event in Road Atlanta, Porsche works drivers Joerg Bergmeister (Germany) and Patrick Long (USA) are now determined to crown a phenomenal season with the title.

Porsche wins manufacturers’ title and environmental award

Stuttgart. Porsche claimed the first championship title in the American Le Mans Series already before the season final at Laguna Seca: At the spectacular 1,000 mile race of Petit Le Mans on the Road Atlanta circuit, Porsche works driver Wolf Henzler and Dirk Werner (both Germany) clinched third in their Porsche 911 GT3 RSR to secure the fiercely-contested GT2 manufacturers’ title for the Zuffenhausen-based sports car manufacturer. Porsche also won the “Michelin Green X Challenge” environmental award.

Porsche retains clear championship lead

Stuttgart. Heading onto the finish straight of the American Le Mans Series season, Porsche retains its clear championship lead. With the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR fielded by Flying Lizard Motorsports, Porsche works drivers Joerg Bergmeister (Germany) and Patrick Long (USA) continue on a steady path for the title after claiming fifth in the hotly-contested GT2 class at the third to last race of the season on Sunday in Mosport/Canada.

Porsche with clear lead in title race

Stuttgart. After five victories so far this season with the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in the American Le Mans Series, Joerg Bergmeister (Germany) and Patrick Long (USA) are on a steady title course. The Porsche works drivers are eager to make another step towards winning the championship in the GT class, when the race series with the world’s fastest sports cars takes off on the Mosport International Raceway in Bowmanville on the outskirts of the Canadian city of Toronto.
