President's Report
President's Report - July 2011
I hope everyone is doing well and your Porsches are tuned up and ready to go because summer is in full swing and The Ken- tucky Region has some really fun events on the schedule for the next several months. But before we get into those, there is one point of business.
I want to thank the membership for the wonderful attendance to our monthly meet- ings. On average we have 25 to 30 people attending each month. We’re trying hard to select interesting restaurants with good food as a great back drop to our meetings. Of course, we’d love to see more attend and get inputs on how the Club can make things more interesting and worth the time you invest. A special thanks to the new members, who venture out to the meetings not knowing what to expect. We trust that we’re making you feel welcome and part of the group.
On June 16th The Kentucky Region completed a hugely successful DE event. And the votes are in... The Kentucky Region has the best Porsche DE experience around! This is only possible by the unbelievable efforts of Jeremy Miller and his team of DE ex- perts. They have the process dialed in like a fine tuned watch. But like all successful events, it takes an outstanding sponsor and we’re blessed to have BlueGrass Mo- torsports Porsche Dealership with Randy Biery at the helm of this sponsorship striving each and every time to create excellence. Mega thanks to everyone for making this such an outstanding event. And the exciting thing about it is, we’re doing it all over again in September in case you missed it!
July is one of those months with a lot of driving events happening. So let’s keep our fingers crossed that gas prices move even lower. We start out with Cars n Coffee on July 9th (an impromptu event each month). July 16th is The Keelenland Concours. We’ll plan on driving over to Lexington in a large group leaving around 10:30. Then July 30th is Porsches 2 Oxford. There will be two groups: one leaving for Oxford, Ohio, on Friday evening and one going up early Saturday morning. These events are all definitely worth investing your time on attending. Let’s pray the weather holds out for us.
So mark your calendars and plan to attend these events, including the monthly meet- ing. It’s your Club and these types of events are why you joined - to use those Por- sches the way they are made to be used.
See you soon. Don’t forget the sun block. Steve McCombs
